Schnitzel Landmann About

Landmann Schnitzel: A Flavor Story Spanning from Vienna to the Future

Surrounded by many legends and now widely regarded as Austria’s national dish, the schnitzel traces its origins back to the 14th century. In medieval Italy, the nobility prepared this ostentatious dish by sprinkling gold dust over the meat in accordance with the beliefs of the time; although it was eventually banned, the breading technique developed to preserve its golden-yellow appearance has left a lasting mark on culinary history.

Austrian General Josef Wenzel Radetzky, who was stationed in Milan, brought this special delicacy to Austria and introduced it to the royal kitchen; Austrian chefs, in turn, adapted the recipe to their own culinary traditions, standardizing the Viennese-style preparation—which uses beef or chicken and is based on a breading of flour, egg, and breadcrumbs. Thus, the Viennese schnitzel, now recognized and loved around the world, was born.

Landmann Schnitzel, which follows in the footsteps of this time-honored culinary heritage, was founded in 2004 in Vienna’s Landstrasse district—the birthplace of the schnitzel. Achieving steady growth thanks to the intense interest it garnered and its loyal customer base in a short time, the brand has brought Viennese-style schnitzel—with its original recipes and high-quality standards—into the realm of modern gastronomy.

Landmann Schnitzel, which entered the Turkish market in 2016, accelerated its expansion in Turkey with the opening of its first branch on Halitağa Street in Kadıköy in 2017. Today, the brand operates in various locations, primarily in Istanbul, and continues to grow with a focus on quality, operational discipline, and brand standards.

As of November 2025, Landmann Schnitzel has joined Yörpaş A.Ş.—which houses Turkey’s No. 1 franchise brand, Komagene, Landmann Schnitzel, which has joined Yörpaş A.Ş.—the company that also houses the strong brands Bereket Döner and Pizza Max under one roof—has elevated its corporate strength to a new level.

Thanks to this strategic partnership, Landmann Schnitzel has gained significant momentum in areas such as investment capacity, technological infrastructure, product supply, product and service development, logistics, franchise operations, and advertising and marketing; and has begun implementing new initiatives aimed at reaching broader markets.

One of the most important steps toward this vision was the Landmann Bowl concept, launched in 2026. Developed by drawing inspiration from changing consumer habits, expectations for fast service, and healthy eating trends, Landmann Bowl was introduced to guests with a new-generation restaurant concept that prioritizes fresh ingredients, customizable options, and operational efficiency. The concept’s first location opened in Cevizli, Maltepe, Istanbul, and quickly garnered significant attention, becoming a major milestone in the brand’s growth strategy.

Landmann Bowl has not only offered consumers a new culinary experience but has also brought a fresh perspective to the industry for franchise investors. Thanks to its low space requirements, optimized operational structure, high efficiency, and strong profit potential, this model enables investors to achieve high sales and sustainable profits with lower startup costs, and has quickly become one of the industry’s most notable concepts.

While preserving the rich heritage of Viennese cuisine, Landmann Schnitzel is bringing the restaurant concept of the future to life today with Landmann Bowl. By combining traditional flavors with a modern business model, the brand continues to confidently carry this unique culinary journey—which began in Vienna—into the future through its strong corporate structure, innovative vision, and sustainable franchise model.
