In this interview with Onur Behramoğlu, CEO of Tamsos, we talked about the journey of the brand since its establishment and the success they have achieved with Tamsos. We share with you all the curious details about the opportunities Tamsos offers to franchise candidates and their future goals.
How was your brand established and what is your mission?
As Gürsoy Gıda, we were established in 1992 to bring healthy, high quality, reliable and delicious white meat products to the end consumer. In 2007, we launched the first additive-free ready-to-eat döner in Turkey and since then, we have started to produce for leading döner brands with special marinades and processing techniques. In 2021, we entered the retail döner sector with the Tamsos brand and in 2024 we decided to expand our corporate identity and gastronomic vision with the Tamsos brand. As Tamsos, we aim to add value to the franchise ecosystem by supporting entrepreneurs with the principle of 100% customer satisfaction.
How Should Your Franchise/Dealer Candidate Profile Look Like?
Entrepreneurs who believe in the vision of Tamsos, who want to work in the flavor sector, who desire to be their own boss with perseverance and determination are suitable candidates for us.
What are the most important features that distinguish you from other brands?
We differentiate ourselves with our expertise in raw materials, long years of experience, corporate structure and strategic vision. In addition, we offer many advantages such as professional team support, location finding and analysis support, affordable installation cost, staff recruitment and training, marketing and advertising. Our products are manufactured in accordance with international quality system certificates and our competitive power is high.
How Many Branches Do You Have? How many of these branches belong to your brand and how many are franchises? As Tamsos, we have 8 restaurants operated under the franchise system and 1 restaurant operated under the Şahane Döner brand.
On average, what are the profit margins of a franchise branch?
Brüt profit margin is around 60% and net profit margin is around 20%.
Do You Receive Franchise (Name Right) Fees?
For 2024, we do not charge a naming right fee.
How long is the term of your franchise agreement?
Our franchise agreements are for 5 years.
Do You Build the Branch Turnkey? Approximately How Much Investment Bütçesi Needed?
Provided that it is in accordance with our architectural concept, construction activities can be realized by the franchisee. The investment cost for construction is 2nd000 TL/m²’’
What is your royalty rate?
We get 2% of the monthly turnover.
Do you charge an advertising participation fee?
No, we do not charge an advertising participation fee.
Do you provide location support? Do you charge a fee for this? We offer location support free of charge.
What is your brand's growth strategy? With our expert team and logistics infrastructure, we are capable of serving every region of Turkey. For this reason, every province and city of our country is of utmost importance to us.
Our branches should preferably be no smaller than 90 m²’.Aç minimum number of staff in the branch to be established?
Except for the courier, 8 personnel are sufficient.
Do you have a Human Resources Pool?
Yes, we have a human resources pool within our company and we also receive consultancy services.
How is your system and software infrastructure? What kind of services do you offer?
Restaurant automation software system integrated with all online food ordering systems is used in our restaurants, training and 24/7 technical support services are provided during the initial installation phase.
