Continuing its brand series by making traditional desserts, Özsüt özsüt öz increases its önünü gradually, especially in the 70-80’s and becomes one of the trademarks of Izmir. By the 1980s, under the leadership of Sefer Usta's son İbrahim Urlulu and with the partnership of the masters of Özsüt, it starts to grow. The first branch of Özsüt’ün was opened in Alsancak, Izmir in 1991. Since 1996, Özsüt, which started to increase the number of branches rapidly by switching to the franchising system, is becoming widespread in the whole of Turkey as one of the first öncüs of the franchise application in our country in the 1990s. Celebrating its 85th anniversary this year, Özsüt has become a brand that originated in Izmir and has become a brand that is known and loved by everyone in our country. Today, we continue our activities with nearly 150 stores in 45 provinces of Turkey and 7 branches abroad in Azerbaijan. We continue to host tens of thousands of guests with nearly five thousand employees.

We carefully identify the investors we will work with. With our 85 years of brand values, we work with franchisees who are experienced in the sector, who respect their work, who are committed to their work, who prioritize customer satisfaction and happiness. Since our investors are people who adopt the discipline of working and love what they do, it is no surprise that we have achieved success.

Özsüt FranchiseYour brand, why should the franchise investor choose you? Can you briefly explain what are the benefits of your brand

Özsüt believes that we offer significant opportunities to entrepreneurs who prefer to franchise with our 85 years of knowledge.  

Our brand has been applying the franchise system in Turkey since 1991. With this feature, we are one of the first franchising brands in our country. From that period to the present day, Özsüt has always been the first choice of investor candidates as a brand that earns well for its dealers and never gives up on growth. 

Of course, the most important priority of prospective investors in franchise is the profitability provided by the brand they will invest in. At this point, the fact that Özsüt’ün always earns good money for the investor candidates and that the entrepreneurs will get back the return of their investment in a period not exceeding 3 years plays a major role in the preference of our brand. As Özsüt, we get used to our franchisees with plans that do not exceed 3 years in terms of return on investment.  While doing this, we carefully analyze the investor candidate profile and the location where he/she will open the franchise. We do not approve the location we are not sure of, even if the investor candidate insists. The high perception of Özsüt’ün in the eyes of the consumer makes our brand the first choice of investors. We consider many parameters while guiding investors on location. We keep many issues such as our store penetration in the region, competitor analysis, our target audience, the features of the store to be invested in, the profile of the investor candidate, the return period of the investment, and we convey this information to the investor candidates in a very transparent manner. We want Çünkü Özsüt dealers to be happy with the investments and we are a brand that achieves this. 

In addition to these efforts, we are achieving our goals in operational excellence with the intensive and successful program implemented by our training department in our stores. With the contributions of our R&D department and our world-renowned chefs, we are constantly making changes in our menus in pastry, bakery products and chocolate and providing our dealers with new sales channels. We also support our dealers with intensive advertising campaigns. With a highly successful logistics operation, we deliver our products to our stores all over Turkey in a safe and fresh manner. 

One of our most important features is that we prepare all our flavors without any preservative additives and with the freshest and local seasonal ingredients, with the sensitivity we have for food safety, healthy and natural food. This causes the Özsüt to create their own unique müdavim. As Özsüt, we give confidence to investor candidates with both our flavors and our franchise approach. With all these features, we continue to be the first choice of investors.

With all these features, we want Özsüt dealers to be satisfied with their investment and we ensure this. The fact that many of our dealers have more than one store in our organization and that we attract the attention of new investors in every period is the biggest indicator of this.

As Ouml;zsüt, we serve with nearly 150 branches in 45 provinces of Turkey, 7 of which are abroad. Except for 1 branch, all our branches are managed by our dealers within the franchising system.         

On average, your profitability ratio is kaç%, brüt and net?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to give a clear profit margin. This rate may vary depending on the region, location, guest demand and the structure of the branch. However, we can make these assessments in more one-on-one meetings.

How much do you charge for the franchise?

Our naming right fee is 600 thousand TL+Kdv’in 2023.

How long is the term of your franchise agreement?

10 years

Do you do the branch construction turnkey or can the franchisee do it himself? What is your construction m2 cost? Approximately how much investment is required for turnkey delivery including fixtures and equipment?

Although the concept of our branches is generally the same, there are differences in costs depending on the menu. If there is a food concept in the menü iç eri, we encounter a higher cost compared to our other stores. Apart from this, the infrastructure of the rented store can also affect the rough construction costs. 
Our turnkey costs range from 900 to 1st000 Euro per m2.
The turnkey cost of a branch with a closed area of 200-250 m2 and an outdoor area of 100 m2, which is required by Özsüt standards, is approximately 250-300 thousand Euros.
Our dealers can also build the branch construction on the condition that they apply the project one-to-one. If they wish, they have the chance to have it done through the companies we are used to.

Royality, that is, how much share of the turnover do you get each month?

Royalty is not based on sales turnover, but on the turnover between the dealer and the dealer. This fee is collected at the end of the month and the rate is 6%.

Do you charge an advertising participation fee?

Advertising and service fees are included in our franchise services.

Özsüt FranchiseDo you provide location support? Do you charge a fee for this? Do you benefit from new generation applications and services for location determination?

Of course we provide location support. As Özsüt, the location where we will give franchise is as important as the investor. For this reason, we personally analyze the location. As I mentioned above, we do not approve the location we are not sure of, even if our investor candidate insists. While determining the location, we consider many parameters such as target audience and competitor analysis. We can say that the active use of social media by many guests, especially in the recent period, and the sharing of location and place posts contribute to our analysis of the region we will invest in.

Where are your domestic locations for your brand from now on? Can you share your plans for overseas expansion with us?

Özsüt’te, we are working with the goal of increasing the number of our branches every day and expanding our international operations.  In Turkey, while adding new stores to our stores spread all over the country, we aspire to be in every province where we do not have a presence. In Azerbaijan, where we started to operate in May 2014, we are serving with 7 branches as of 2023. We continue our feasibility studies for the investments we will make in the Middle East and Europe in the next period. We are also in contact with the Gulf countries. We are in contact with many candidates. We are in the process of opening a store in Saudi Arabia.  Apart from this, we also want to be in countries such as Germany, Austria and France in Europe, where Türks live densely. In addition, we continue to have intensive export relations with countries such as America, Switzerland and Belgium. We continue to work hard to increase the number of countries we export to in the future.

Özsüt FranchiseAç branch to be built should be minimum kaç m2? Also; kaç ç you have an equal concept?

We are constantly developing new projects with the motto that there is always room for innovation at Özsüt’t’te. Under the Özsüt çat, there are 4 different menümüs under the Özsüt çat, varying according to the örün range. Özsüt stores should have a closed area in the range of 200-250 m2 and an outdoor area of 80-100 m2 for the presentation of the product and the healthy operation. However, all büyüklüks may vary depending on the location of the store and the menu to be used. We have flexibility in this regard because we do the project çizing in the store özel. 
In addition to Özsüt, one of STP Gıda’s brands, we also serve with our BONTON Özsüt and Özsüt Select concepts. With BONTON Özsüt, which started its activities in 2022, we set out with the aim of offering our more affordable products to consumers.  BONTON’s Kiosk concept BONTON’s has been designed as a completely investor-friendly brand with its small square meter area, less staffing needs, and buy and sell service.

In 2021, we set out to offer a completely different Özsüt experience with our open kitchen concept store Özsüt Select’which we launched in Izmir’s Alsancak neighborhood. Özsüt Select was designed in a different concept from Özsüt’s with its architectural design and menu. We can say that it was planned completely differently from the lighting to the table chairs, from the hâkim color tone to the logo. In our open kitchen concept store, where we produce cakes, chocolate, ice cream and croissants in the store, our guests can come together with expert chefs, chat with the chefs and watch the production stages live. In this sense, it is an extraordinary concept for the pastry sector in our country. We are working hard to serve Istanbulites with Özsüt Select.

Özsüt FranchiseAçaç branch to be established should have a minimum of kaç personnel in your opinion?

Although it varies depending on branch size and working hours, we can say that an average of 12-14 personnel are required.

Do you have a human resources pool? Are you working with such a çözüm partner? 

Our Human Resource pool is only available at the level of operational müdürü and kitchen staff. However, the Özsüt training team also supports the selection and training of all personnel. 

What kind of support do you provide as a brand to your franchise dealers regarding personnel trainings?

Before the opening of the franchise branch, we provide the necessary personnel trainings. However, we continue to support all our dealers and their employees not only in the start-up phase but also through trainings we organize from time to time.

How is your system and software infrastructure? What kind of services do you offer to investors?

We install automation systems, internet and ordering systems in our branches with the support of our information technology department.

Do you have your procurement audited?

We meticulously select all of our suppliers in line with our sensitivity to food safety, healthy and natural products. In order to maintain the standard of our products worthy of the brand image and quality, we frequently carry out the necessary controls. 

Do you have a brand yüzünüz in line with your brand marketing and PR strategies? Can you give us information about your social media management and advertising activities?

We do not use any brand yüzü in our advertising and PR activities. We carry out our social media and PR activities through our agencies that we cooperate with.
