The Second Wave of Franchising in the Automotive Industry: New Investment Areas Are Coming to the Fore

Car inspection, has become one of the key examples demonstrating how automotive services can grow through a franchise system in Turkey. However, the new wave is not expected to be limited to vehicle inspections alone.

A New Area in After-Sales Services

As vehicles are used for longer periods, the need for maintenance, protection, refurbishment, and cleaning services is increasing. While there will be 17,373,000 cars in Turkey by the end of 2025, the average age of cars has reached 14.2. This situation points to strong market potential in terms of after-sales services.

From a Single Service to a Customer Economy

In examples around the world, rapid maintenance, PPF, ceramic coating, detailing, window tinting, tire-and-wheel services, and vehicle electronics—are increasingly being consolidated around a single customer. The goal is not just to perform a single service, but to generate recurring revenue by retaining the customer within the system.

Subscription-Based Models Are Gaining Prominence

Technologies such as monthly car wash subscriptions, mobile apps, and license plate recognition are transforming the traditional service into a structure that generates recurring revenue. Similarly, robust CRM, appointment, and reminder systems also support franchise investors in building long-term relationships with customers.

Franchise Opportunities in Turkey

Brands such as Midas and Ziebart operate in the automotive services sector in Turkey under the franchise model. According to Erem, the real opportunity lies in structures that can bring together different services under strong operational standards and scale them effectively.

“Once I’ve added a car and its owner to my system, how many different services can I sell to them, and how many times, over the next five years?”

From an investor’s perspective, this approach focuses not only on daily revenue; but also the customer’s retention period, cross-selling opportunities, and the support provided by the franchisor.
